Official Statement on the Passing of Idella Russell

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Idella Russell (1974–2025), a remarkable woman and a dedicated neighbor of the Capitol Crossing Apartments community.

She passionately advocated for our community, always helping and working tirelessly to support our mission. Her unwavering commitment to unity, justice, and the well-being of tenants was truly inspiring, and her contributions left an indelible mark on the lives of many.

As we honor her memory, we ask for your support in covering her funeral expenses and ensuring the well-being of her young children. Introducing Capitol Crossing Warriors: Advocating for Tenant Rights and Building Community

Welcome to the official launch of Capitol Crossing Warriors Tenants Association! We’re excited to introduce ourselves and share our vision for fostering stronger communities and advocating tenant rights. As a newly registered 501(c)(3) public charity, Capitol Crossing Warriors is dedicated to uniting neighbors and empowering residents of affordable housing communities to create a better living environment for everyone.

    Our Mission

Capitol Crossing Warriors Tenants Association exists to address the challenges faced by residents in affordable housing communities. These challenges include a lack of regard for tenant rights, insufficient unity among tenants, property deterioration, and limited access to community resources. We aim to bridge these gaps by fostering community connections, advocating for fairness, and organizing events that support and inspire residents.

    What We Stand For

    1. Tenant Advocacy: Ensuring that tenant rights are upheld and that residents have a voice in matters that affect their living conditions.
    2. Community Building: Promoting unity and collaboration among neighbors through events, resources, and shared experiences.
    3. Empowerment Through Education: Offering workshops and resources to help tenants better understand their rights and responsibilities.
    4. Resource Development: Working to bring more resources and opportunities to our communities, from improved facilities to educational programs.

    Upcoming Events and Initiatives

In 2024, we plan to host community-building events, tenant education workshops, and advocacy campaigns to ensure that the needs and rights of tenants are front and center. Our team is also developing a Warriors Engagement Platform, a tailored CRM system designed to streamline communication, coordinate events, and connect residents to vital resources.

    Join the Movement

We’re calling on tenants, allies, and community members to join us in this journey. Whether you’re a resident looking to get involved, a volunteer eager to make a difference or a supporter who believes in our cause, there’s a place for you at Capitol Crossing Warriors.

Together, we can address our community’s challenges and create lasting change. Follow us on social media, attend our events, and stay tuned for updates on our initiatives. Let’s make 2024 a year of growth, empowerment, and progress for all tenants at Capitol Crossing Apartments and beyond.
